Burned creosote, wildfire ash or a season of soot, cleared under drop cloths and photographed so the flue can be judged. After a fire, quake or nearby wildfire in Sherman Oaks, we inspect before we quote and say plainly whether to burn.
Send the date, what you saw and any photos. We reply with the first step for your Sherman Oaks chimney.
Postwar ranch houses with brick chimneys, hillside homes with tall outside stacks, and condos with factory-built fireplaces make up much of Sherman Oaks, and each one shows fire or quake damage in its own places. Chambers Chimney Experts plans chimney sweep around the house in front of us and puts the work in order, the parts that keep fire away from the framing first.

Many Sherman Oaks chimneys went up in the building boom after the war and rode out the 1994 Northridge earthquake, some with repairs that only covered the cracks. A chimney fire in one of those flues often opens old damage along with new. After any fire or strong shake here, we start with a camera inspection before anyone talks about price.

A standard visit covers complete creosote and soot removal, smoke chamber deep cleaning, and hepa-filtered vacuum - no mess guaranteed. The written report dates each finding, ties it to a photo and marks it as new damage or older wear, which is what most adjusters ask for.

Burbank is its own city with its own building department, so a rebuild or gas insert here is permitted through Burbank rather than Los Angeles. Many older Burbank chimneys are unreinforced brick, the type most likely to crack in a quake or a hot flue fire. We take care of the permit when a repair needs one.

Canoga Park lies a few miles from where the 1994 Northridge quake struck, and brick chimneys across the west Valley cracked, twisted or fell that morning. Many were patched rather than rebuilt. Because the neighborhood is part of the City of Los Angeles, a rebuild here goes through the city's building department, and we handle that step when a repair calls for it.

Encino houses often have more than one fireplace, plus an outdoor fire pit or fireplace, and a fire in one flue does not mean the others are fine. When one chimney on a property burns, we look at every flue that shares the stack. The report lists each one separately, so repairs and any claim stay clear.

Canyon houses in Studio City often have chimneys that are hard to reach and easy to forget, sometimes with the only clear view from a neighbor's yard. After a chimney fire, the cap and crown on those stacks can hide damage for a whole season. We photograph them from the roof, since a look from the street misses too much.

Woodland Hills sits near hills where the 2018 Woolsey fire burned, and many owners here have lived through smoke, ash and evacuation warnings. After a nearby fire, we check caps, crowns and flues for ash and ember damage even when the house itself was untouched. Factory-built fireplaces get checked against their own listing.
